Description

Methlab should launch Audacious if ML gets launched before the player instead of reverting to the dummy driver like it does now.

Could you try creating a file /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.atheme.audacious.service with the following contents (fix path to audacious binary if necessary):

[D-BUS service] Name=org.atheme.audacious Exec=/usr/bin/audacious

created the service and rebooted but no difference in behavior.

Any news on this one Hyriand? Or maybe just disable the "media player check" so it doesn't go back to the dummy driver if the media player is not running when starting MethLab?
